Vetiver oil- Vetiveria zizanoides
INTRODUCTION:
- Vetiver is a tall, tufted, scented, perennial grass with straight stems, long narrow leaves and a complex underground root system characteristic of plants in this family.
- The strong root system blends with the soil and accounts for the plant's adaptability.
- Vetiver essential oil has an earthy aroma, some say similar to that of Patchouli with a touch of Lemon.
- It is a thick amber liquid with a scent that, also like Patchouli, improves with age.
- The essential oil is distilled from the roots of a tall densely tufted perennial grass. An important base-note perfume constituent, the oil provides a rich and tenacious characteristic that serves as a fixative for Oriental blends.
